The Premier signed and handed over equipment to various netball federations and Minister of Cultural Affairs and Sport Dr Ivan Meyer lauded them for their contributions to the sport.

Earlier this year, Dr Meyer announced a "netball revolution" in the Western Cape to actively promote and develop netball.

"It’s a joy to acknowledge you as presidents, captains and umpires for your contribution and personal sacrifices to the sport. Your leadership and focus on youth development, especially on girls in rural areas, and your hosting of successful events make the Western Cape proud", said Dr Meyer.
